I started working on this textbook with the idea that learning can be enjoyable and useful. Being able to think critically is unfortunately something that is being emphasized less and less in schools as time goes on. I tried to put as much as possible into this book that would get students interested in the learning process. The topics were carefully chosen as topics that would get students moving around and exploring the world around them. I added interesting and very old pictures from the past that would help them connect to days gone by.

Each unit contains mini presentations and major presentations that will help students become more confident and more interested in speaking and exploring ideas that don’t get brought up enough. In the back of the book, I added a journal section, where students can express themselves freely and practice talking about ideas in the units.

The result is a book that encourages speaking, being social, and exploring and observing. It is a book about giving presentations in English, but it also expands on many other ideas. It is also a memory that people can keep with them long after the book is completed.

I hope people can use this book to capture that lost element that made learning interesting.
